Jordan White and Joe Hilton Join the Staggies

It’s now two signings in two days for the Staggies. Joe Hilton has joined on a loan from Blackburn and will be challenging Laidlaw for the number one position between the sticks. Secondly, Jordan White joins from Motherwell on a permanent deal. He will be with the Staggies until the end of the season with the option to extend his contract, providing that County stay in the Premiership.

Joe Hilton has made 35 appearances so far across his career, with the majority of them coming in the under 18 Premier League and the reserve Premier League. He has also made a small number of appearances in League One for Fleetwood Town. He is a product of the Manchester City academy, and has also spent time in Everton’s youth setups.

Joe Hilton will hopefully be a good influence on Laidlaw with him knowing that someone else will be challenging for his position. However, I do not think he will make a large number of appearances as he is only at Victoria Park for 6 months and Laidlaw appears to be in great form.

The fifth addition to John Hughes squad, Jordan White, has played for multiple clubs in his career, most notably Livingston, Wrexham, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and most recently Motherwell. Over Jordan’s 11 year career he has scored a total of 117 goals across 402 appearances.

White will most likely be the backup striker for the in form Oli Shaw and will likely appear most this season from substitutions. But he does offer a largely different option to the Strikers we already have. Jordan is what you could call a “classic number nine.” If a game requires a more physical presence to ruffle up an opponent’s defence, there is no doubt White will be the right man for that job.

Welcome to County Joe and Jordan!
